Dua Lipa is an English singer/songwriter born in London United Kingdom on August 22nd, 1995. She signed a contract with Warner Bros Records after a few years of working and released a self-titled first album in the year 2017. It reached third place on the U.K. albums chart and featured eight singles including the U.K. number one song New Rules and Be the One I.D.G.A.F. Lipa was honored with the Brit Award in 2018 as a British Female Soloist as well as British Breakthrough Artist. The album has been certified platinum across a variety of countries. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha, and Dukagjin lipa. Her parents are of Bosnian origin via her maternal grandmother. Additionally, her ancestors are from the Kosovo town Peja. Her grandparents were historians as well. They have a brother Gjin Lipa as well as a sister Rina. Lipa was musically influenced by her father, who is also the lead guitarist and singer for the Kosovan group Oda. Her father at home continued playing music which included his music and compositions, as well as songs of David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa began singing when she was 5 years old. At the age of nine years old, she began to sing at the Sylvia Young Theater School.
