Tommy Lee-5-1024x1024Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass October 3 1962 in Athens to David Lee Thomas Bass, an American U.S. Army sergeant and Vassiliki Papadimitriou, a contestant at the 1957 Miss Greece beauty pageant (Greek: Basilike Papademetriou). He is the younger brother of Athena, who is also drummer. Lee was just two years old [4] when his father took his family to the United States. Lee received his first drums at the age of four as well as his first large drum kit at the age of an teen. Lee quit high school in order to pursue a career in music, beginning with Suite 19, a L.A.-based club band. [5] As a teenager, he listened to Van Halen as well as Led Zeppelin as well as Kiss, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Kiss and Led Zeppelin.
